Staff

All of our Staff are highly trained by Dr. Paul Hegstrom himself.  We are an affiliate of Life Skills International (headquartered in Denver, CO).  They undergird our center with 30+ years of experience in offering communities across the nation a psycho-educational program that teaches an individual that wants to learn, how to develop strong healthy relationships and individual quality of life.  We are also a tax-exempt non-profit organization under Life Skills of San Antonio.

Brenda Ramsey

After years of counseling in many different vocations, from Church Administrator to Human Resources Director for healthcare organizations, Brenda Ramsey finally realized her true calling. In 2013 she entered into her formal education under Drs. Richard and Phyllis Arno of the National Christian Counselor's Association (NCCA). She is now a Certified Temperament Counselor, Certified Pastoral Counselor and member of NCCA.  In addition to her training with NCCA, Mrs. Ramsey is a Licensed Pastoral Counselor of The Austin Vineyard Church, and has completed training with Dr. Paul Hegstrom of Life Skills International.  She is currently on staff as a Pastoral Counselor at Restore Transform, in Cedar Park, Texas, and Head to Heart Restoration Ministry, in Round Rock, Texas.

Mrs. Ramsey is very excited about taking on the next season of life as Director of Family Life Skills of Austin. A wife of over 35 years, mother of four, mother-in-law of three, and grandmother of nine, Mrs. Ramsey has experienced a lot of life, with all of its peaks and valleys. She's passionate about sharing the Life Skills message with hurting people, and seeing lives transformed.

Clayton Barnes
Clayton has a passion to help those in need and/or hurting.  We are excited to have him as part of our team, leading the men.

Founding Staff:

Julie Corson

Julie Corson holds an Advanced Certification in Biblical Counseling and is the former Director of Family Life Skills of Austin, as well as the first women's class facilitator.  She captured the vision of what "Learning to Live, Learning to Love", (Family Life Skills) could do for the people in our Central Texas community. She is also the Founder and Director of Restore Transform.

Gary Corson
Gary Corson was the first men's class facilitator (and husband of Julie).  He also knows what it's like to be in various life situations, driven by emotions/anger, addiction, and even made choices that for a time cost him his freedom and his marriage (until they were remarried years ago).  Gary is also a living testimony in how someone can completely turn around their life and be healed; he is now living a happy and healthy life along side his wife and sons.
